Municipal Futures Lab
A Youth Social Impact Forum connects the LGU with the High School and Senior High School students, aligning student research with the LGU's "problem set".
Objectives
At the end of the Youth Social Impact Forum, the participants will have:
aligned student (Grade 8 to university levels) and SK projects to address real-world problems at the barangay and LGU levels
created the local Municipal Futures Lab as a multi-year partnership between the SKs, barangays, and LGU with the local schools and universities
developed the leadership capacities of students, student leaders, and SKs
Mayor Garcia shares how the Municipal Futures Lab creates spaces for participatory governance.
SK Federation Vice Chair discusses the intersection of research and youth engagement.
SKs can work closely with high schools and senior high schools by aligning student research projects with the municipal problem set. The first step is asking the Mayor and municipal leaders what they believe are priority problems that students can work on.
